World Interaction Design Day (IxDD) is BACK again! This time, in-person and one of the design community programme of Singapore Design Week 2023. This year's IxDD theme: Ethics, Equity, + Responsibility is one that many of us as designers can closely relate to. As we live in the midst of our rapidly changing and tumultuous world, post-pandemic life appears to be marked by volatility and chaos. The current landscape is dominated by pressing issues such as AI, war, climate crisis, food security, globalisation, capitalism, fascism, inequality, and more, which inundate our daily news channels. In light of these challenges, the role of designers has never been more critical, requiring them to step outside their comfort zones and contribute to improving the human condition and the planet. How might we as designers do our part? This World Interaction Design Day, we’ll explore three inspiring stories around the theme of ethics, equality and responsibility and see how we can make meaningful sustained impact, together.
