IxDA Milan & Turin invites all passionate designers from Milan and Turin to meet and debate. We will have the honor of being guided through this broad topic by three keynotes from different disciplines that will be announced very soon.
The event is a short jam in which students of the Interaction Design and animation degree (Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla) will tackle the challenge of designing an interactive product adding one of this year's proposed dimensions. The main theme is a term known as Adulting, that has to do with all of the challenges that come when becoming an adult, like paying your taxes, taking care of your health, your retirement plan, and so on.
In celebration of World Interaction Design Day 2024, Ideate Innovation, a human-centered design firm based in Pakistan, is hosting a hands-on workshop titled Designing with Nature’s Code in collaboration with Precision Medicine Lab Peshawar.
This workshop will explore the theme of adding new dimensions to design by applying biodesign principles—using nature’s wisdom to address pressing societal challenges. Participants will work in small, interdisciplinary teams to explore dynamic scenarios and develop bio-focused prototypes. Through this collaborative process, attendees will gain insights into how nature-inspired design can offer innovative, sustainable solutions. The workshop will culminate with each group presenting their prototypes and sharing the stories of their imagined worlds.
The event aims to push the boundaries of traditional design thinking, integrating natural systems and interdisciplinary approaches to foster creativity and positive impact.
In collaboration of IXDA-Cavite, Philippines and CreativeNation Academy the 3rd World Interaction Design Day Celebration-Cavite will be held again via Facebook page and Zoom Meeting Streaming.
Thomas Knüsel (*1984) is a media artist and creative technologist who holds a BA from HSLU DFK and an MA from ZHdK. His artistic practice explores the intersection of technology, materiality, perception, science and art, using various media to create works that oscillate often between art and technology.
Their talk will delve into how machine vision algorithms enable computers to ‘see’ the world. The two artistic works 'Throwback Environment' and 'Fomes Fomentarius Digitalis' use the 'perception' of machine vision in different ways. In this talk, we will immerse ourselves into these two works and see what they can tell us about how algorithms work.
